Driving Directions

From Dublin

Castletown Geoghegan is approximately 100km or 1h 30mins from Dublin. Take the N4/M4 out of Dublin, continue onto the M6 (following signposts for Galway/Athlone). Exit at Junction 5 signposted Kilbeggan off the M6. At the roundabout, follow signs for R389 that leads into Kilbeggan town. Continue to the next roundabout and take the first exit to stay on R389. This takes you onto the main street in Kilbeggan. Turn right onto the R389 which is signposted Castletown Geoghegan.

Continue on this road passing Kilbeggan Racecourse. After approx 2km, take the left fork to stay on the R389, which is signposted Castletown Geoghegan / Mount Druid.

Continue on this road for 6km until you reach the village of Castletown Geoghegan. Continue straight through the village and take the left turn immediately before the Church. The entrance to Mount Druid is 100 metres ahead on your left.

From Belfast

Mount Druid is approximately 120 miles from Belfast and the journey will take approximately 2hrs 40 mins. Take the A1 from Belfast and stay on A1 until it becomes N1. From N1 continue onto the M1

Option 1:

At Junction 16, take the N52 exit to Ardee/Dundalk (South) and stay on N52 until you reach Mullingar. Continue into Mullingar and straight through the town. Take the R390 signposted Athlone out of Mullingar. In Ballinea turn left under the bridge onto the R391, signposted Horseleap / Kilbeggan. In Dysart take the left signposted Castletown Geoghegan (L1235)

Continue into the village, at the t-junction take a right and immediate left before the church. The entrance to Mount Druid is 100 metres ahead on your left.

Option 2:

Continue on the M1, take exit 1 off the Motorway, signposted Malahide (N32) and M50. Continue onto the M50 Southbound. Exit at Junction 7 signposted Palmerstown, Lucan, The WEST N4 (N5-M6). Follow signs west.

From Mullingar

Mount Druid is 14km from Mullingar. Take the R390 signposted Athlone out of Mullingar. In Ballinea turn left under the bridge onto the R391, signposted Horseleap / Kilbeggan. In Dysart take the left fork signposted Castletown Geoghegan (L1235). Continue into the village, at the T-junction take a right and immediate left before the church. The entrance to Mount Druid is 100 metres ahead on your left.

From Galway

Castletown Geoghegan is 125 km from Galway and the journey will take approx 1hr 30mins. Leave Galway on M6 signed for Dublin and continue on until Exit 5 for Kilbeggan. At Exit 5 take N52 signposted Kilbeggan/Tullamore. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto R389. From the market Square, turn right onto the R389 which is signposted Castletown Geoghegan.

Continue on this road passing Kilbeggan Racecourse. After approx 2km, take the left fork to stay on the R389, which is signposted Castletown Geoghegan / Mount Druid.

From Kilbeggan

Castletown Geoghegan is approx 9km from Kilbeggan. From the market Square, turn right onto the R389 which is signposted Castletown Geoghegan.

Continue on this road passing Kilbeggan Racecourse. After approx 2km, take the left fork to stay on the R389, which is signposted Castletown Geoghegan / Mount Druid.

Continue on this road for 6km until you reach the village of Castletown Geoghegan. Continue straight through the village and take the left turn immediately before the Church. The entrance to Mount Druid is 100 metres ahead on your left.

Checkin & Checkout

All guests must vacate their accommodation by 12 noon with the Gate closing at 12.30. 

Does Mount Druid look after the Catering or is there an option to bring in outside caterers.

We have our own Industrial Kitchen and team of Chefs in the Barn, who are happy to cater for your dietary requirements. 

What does the hire fee include?

The Hire Fee guarantees exclusive use of the Barn, the Garden Room, Walled garden and Boat House by the lake for you and your Guests on the day of your event, Also included in the Hire Fee is the use of the Courtesy Bus to transport Guests between venues on the Day and to drop guests back to their accommodation on site when the Barn closes.
